“I joined Wilshire as an intern in 2019 focused on data visualization in the Analytics division. I was exposed to team collaboration at every stage - from brainstorming to research to prototyping to implementing the solution. Toward the end of my internship, we won our first client! It was a really inspiring, challenging, motivating and informative experience.
Our analytics tools are so comprehensive that I was highly driven to learn more about finance to better serve clients. I also joined a CFA study group that motivated me to review for the exams and helped me earn my certification. I’m always encouraged to develop new skills to solve new business challenges. I’ve been supported by colleagues across different business areas who all happily shared their knowledge. Whenever I have a question or a problem, I know I can turn around and there will always be someone to help me find my way out of the maze. The ocean view also always cheers me up!

“Interning at Wilshire gave me great insight into the world of finance as it gave me the opportunity to meet people across the industry. It also taught me how to think critically of investment opportunities.
One of the things I appreciate most about my job is that curiosity is encouraged. For example, part of doing manager research is staying informed about industry developments. When I’m not working on projects, I am given the time to look into topics that interest me, which helps make me more informed and better at my job.
I also enjoy learning about the new and interesting ways people invest. The world of finance is huge and there are a lot of non-traditional strategies that blow my mind with how creative people are. Since I joined Wilshire, I have developed my professional skills across the board. The scope of a job in manager research is broad, including data analysis, research, writing and participating in meetings with fund managers. Because of this broad mandate, I have been able to hone my skills in math and writing, as well as my ability to form relationships in the business world."
